Mindfulness meditation is a relatively new psychological method for persons to fix stress. Given impetus by Sarah Edelman it tries to get people to keep their mind in today, in the now. Being Mindful is a sub area of CBT. Utilizing various methods like guided relaxation people learn to relax and are able to use these methods in their everyday life to help with their stress . Its more than just meditation, which has long been put forward as the way to have a relaxed view to life. Meditation might be fine - but if you live a 24/7 life busy busy busy with stress and goings-on, spending twenty minutes a every other day in meditation is not going to assist. Being Mindful is about trying to be in the now. Not thinking about how that new kitchen will make your life whole - but living the now - living in this day. and appreciating now. Much to much of western experience is caught up in aspiring for the next big thing. People are unthinking in hoping that if they win the lottery that someway their being will be fixed for good.
