About Simonette Vaja

Since 1991, I have owned and directed my own psychology practice and combined practices throughout the lower North Shore: Northbridge, North Sydney, Neutral Bay, Mosman and currently Avalon and CBD practices.  I  developed, authored and directed a successful community based self awareness program called  “Wild at heart” creativity and self expression groups.  In 2000 I contracted my own “Facilitator for Life” training component of the course to Nature Care College and was contracted for a 5 year term, teaching to allied health professionals and students of the college.  In brief, the psychological approaches involved draw upon  adult learning principles, Eastern Taoism and humanistic leadership; experiential learning, creative arts as tools for transformation and change.   Essentially the weekly course invites participants’ to tell their story through the Creative Arts: a positive orientation, an uplifting approach to personal growth intent on building meaningful connection and acceptance of diversity.

With over 18 years experience working as a psychotherapist/registered psychologist and mental health professional, I have consulted to thousands of individuals to transform their lives and improve the quality their work/life relationships. I have facilitated people to manage major life transitions both at work and at home.  I have post graduate specialist training in cognitive behaviour therapy, transpersonal psychology, short-term solution focussed therapies, clinical hypnosis and many years of experience helping individuals recover and integrate on all levels of their being after experiencing life crises and/or traumatic life events.

I have written, spoken and produced a large range of guided visualisations on various  topics to empower people and build positive relationships.  For the past 10 years these CD’s have consistently rated top 10 best sellers through-out Australia and overseas.

I also have a strong background in consulting to corporate clients and have  presented my own workshops to various businesses, this has included running stress management programs, healthy home-work life; leadership development workshops, working with the group dynamic to facilitate change (Boston Consulting group & Herbs of Gold) as well as personal coaching to CEO’s and managers of organisations (Banking sectors,  HCF, Colonial Mutual, Telstra and It industries).
