"Classic Children's Songs" is a musical celebration of classic British children's writers. The audio CD features songs to poems by Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll, Robert Louis Stevenson, Rudyard Kipling, Hilaire Belloc, Kenneth Grahame, A. A Milne, Walter de la Mare, J. R. R Tolkien and Spike Milligan. The songs include much-loved favourites, such as "The Owl and the Pussy-cat", "Christopher Robin is Saying His Prayers", "The Lamplighter", "They're Changing Guard at Buckingham Palace", "Henry King (Who Chewed Little Bits of String) and Granny". The songs are performed by three of the UK's leading musicians: baritone Roderick Williams (described by BBC Music Magazine as "a national treasure"), soprano Elizabeth Atherton and planist and BBC presenter, Iain Burnside.
